Lake Counseling
Lake Counseling offers psychotherapy for kids, tweens, and young adults in Kirkland, Washington and virtually for those located in Washington State.
My partner started her own therapy private practice in 2024 and she asked for my help to make a custom website for her business. Of course, I said yes! I had a lot of fun making it too.

Branding and Design
At the start of the project, I worked with Lakeland to map out the pages needed from a high level. Then, I used Figma to design how the site was going to look. We discussed colors, fonts, and eventually settled on the general layout of the site.
Lake Counseling primarily provides play therapy for kids, so she wanted her brand and website to fit the part and communicate a playful tone. I accomplished this by using a combination of bright colors, modern typefaces, and a comfortable layout with plenty of whitespace.
She also wanted to have some fun easter eggs spread across the site, so I added a floating confetti button to the bottom left corner which pops confetti when it's clicked. If you hover over Lakeland's photo on the about page, it will animate/spin to reveal a photo of Lakeland as a kid.
Technical Notes
- I also registered lakelandhahn.com so anyone who visits her full name can find her. It redirects to lakecounseling.co via a 301 (permanent redirect) in Cloudflare.
